Inside the Cosmic Mind: Archetypal Astrology and the New Cosmology  The following is a re-posting of the blurb from the back cover which my publisher wrote. It’s a good introduction to what the book is all about. Inside the Cosmic Mind presents a radical new approach to astrology in the light of the emerging worldview known as archetypal cosmology. In this book Phoebe Wyss explores the roots of this cosmology in the wisdom of the ancient Egyptian mysteries, then follows these ideas to modern times through Jung’s ideas on the nature of the psyche. In doing so she discovers that astrology is entirely compatible with the claims of the new cosmological thinking as envisioned by post-modern physics and chaos theory. She goes on to propose that the mathematical basis of astrology and the components of astrological charts are both psychological and cosmic in their scope. And she argues that the twelve astrological archetypes make up one single cosmic mind whose patterns are imprint

2020, THE YEAR OUR REALITY CHANGED UTTERLY: AN ASTROLOGICAL DIARY Blog 7: 21st-28th April 'Embracing our Inner Demons' 21st April: Sun in Taurus squares Saturn in Aquarius.  'What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger!' Dark thoughts cast shadows (Saturn) on our sensuous enjoyment (Taurus) of the warm, sunny Spring weather, bringing low morale, lethargy and depression. In the UK the covid death toll remains too high, and politicians warn of a longer lockdown – for those over seventy until the end of the year! Saturn’s grip is tightening globally with borders closing, and strict lockdowns being introduced along with policing and surveillance. We hear of repressive governments (Saturn) using covid as a reason to curtail civil rights (Aquarius) and put democracy on hold. However, on the health front, where Saturn stands for the immune system, he becomes an ally of the Sun (our life energy), crucial for defence against the virus. The anti-bodies (Saturn) created i

2020, The Year our Reality Changed Utterly: An Astrological Diary: Blog 6, 19th April “A great gift of astrology, perhaps its greatest gift, is this: it shows us we are part of something vast and meaningful; that life is not mere random accidents in space and time.” This is from my friend, Scottish astrologer Anne Whitaker, who’s claiming that the cosmos is meaningful in itself, beyond any projections from the human mind. It’s just what I hope this series of blogs will demonstrate. At any moment in time, astrology allows us to step back and watch the ongoing themes arising in the public world and in our personal lives, whose development we can follow and understand in the context of astrology’s bigger cosmic picture. For example events related to the covid epidemic can be put in the context of a meaningful patterning covering a wider reach of time than these days and weeks, and the planets in their ongoing inter-relationships are keys to the developing meaning.

2020, The Year Our Reality Changed Utterly: an Astrological Diary Blog 5

Blog 5 April 8th Timetable of Planetary Movements: 5th April, first exactitude of the three 2020 Jupiter-Pluto conjunctions. 7th April, Mars in Aquarius squares Uranus in Taurus. 8th April, full Moon in Libra opposes Sun and quincunxes Neptune. 11th April Mercury enters Aries. Correlations with Events in the News : 5th April: The exactitude to the minute of the Jupiter-Pluto conjunction symbolises a peak in the surge of the Covid virus infection (see Blog 1 ) It correlated with first reports of the number of new infections declining in European countries. The UK’s leader Boris Johnson, now sick himself with the virus, is removed to an intensive care unit, while the Queen is addressing the nation in an uplifting speech to give courage and promote national solidarity (Jupiter). The rate of infections and deaths is still rising in the UK, but experts expect the peak to be reached soon (the Jupiter-Pluto conjunction is not over in a day, but remains for some weeks in or

Finally on 5 th April a big event – the first exactitude of the 2020 Jupiter-Pluto conjunctions! Correlating Events on Earth:   28th March: The great tsunami wave of the pandemic towers, and leaders give up on trying to delay it breaking. As Venus conjuncts the Moon in Taurus, billions of pounds (Venus trine Jupiter-Pluto in Capricorn) are pledged to save the UK health services from being overwhelmed. Also with extreme, unheard-of spending measures billions are thrown at trade and industry to prevent a wider melt-down (Jupiter-Pluto in Capricorn) while vast sums are pl

March 25 th The triple conjunction of Jupiter, Pluto and Mars in Capricorn, in the shadow of January’s Saturn-Pluto conjunction in that sign, is scripting the course of the pandemic and pointing us to its deeper meanings. As Mars (warfare and fevers) draws closer to Jupiter and Pluto he’s fanning the flames, accelerating the infection rate along with the steep surge in deaths   in the West (surge=Mars-Jupiter, deaths= Pluto). Fear in the population intensifies. People in panic strip the supermarket shelves, aggressively acting out of self-interest (Mars) to stockpile huge reserves (Mars-Jupiter). The magnitude of the risk seems at last to be recognised   by the leaders, shaking off the spell of nebulous Mercury in Pisces (Blog 18th March) after, in the UK and America at least, dilly dallying and sending out mixed messages. But now while Mercury sextiles Uranus   (20th-24th March) minds are suddenly changed and a Capricorn Mars now supports the push to take decisive action .

2020:THE YEAR OUR REALITY CHANGED UTTERLY, AN ASTROLOGICAL DIARY Blogs 1 and 2

Blog 1  March 12th The full moon in Virgo three days ago occurring opposite Sun conjunct Neptune describes our present collective and personal state of mind very well. Concerns about health and hygiene (Virgo) arise from the threat of the corona virus in the face of which we feel confused and helpless (Pisces and Nept une). As it's also unstoppable - boundless and invisible - it freaks us out! I see this scenario as occurring in the wider context of the Saturn-Pluto conjunction of last December-January, which saw the first reports of the virus. It's giving the tone to the whole of 2020 as it dominated the winter solstice chart. In brief Saturn-Pluto symbolises exceptional hardship, materially and economically, and on the psychological level deep irrational fear and dread. Although Mercury in Pisces is now no longer retrograde, and more clarity leading to decisive action should be available, in the prevalent Piscean energy the heightened collective imagination can produc
